New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu had her game-worn Nike shoes stolen, along with custom insoles, between games at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
The theft occurred after the Liberty's victory against the Las Vegas Aces in the Commissioner's Cup championship game.
Sabrina Ionescu took to Twitter to address the situation, expressing her disbelief and requesting the return of her stolen insoles, which were customized for her comfort.
While the shoes can be replaced, the customized insoles provided specific cushioning for Ionescu's feet.
Ionescu shared photos of the missing shoes on Twitter. One pair was green and yellow, featuring the word "quack," a nod to her time with the Oregon Ducks.
Ionescu wore her Oregon Ducks Sabrina 1s during the game where the shoes were stolen.
MGM Resorts, the owner of the arena, confirmed that police are investigating the theft.
Nike unveiled Sabrina Ionescu's first signature shoe, the unisex Sabrina 1s, in March. The shoes are set to be available for sale starting September 1.
She contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the Commissioner's Cup championship win, and recorded 22 points, four rebounds, and two assists in the subsequent loss.
